At the President’s direction, the SBA led the first-ever Interagency Task Force on Veterans Small Business Development, which included representation from seven federal agencies and four leading veterans organizations.

Through public meetings, the Task Force gathered input and ideas which ra...

Day off?

Posted by Becky & Nic Gentile on October 29, 2011 at 8:40 PM Comments comments (0)

Well for the first Saturday in I can't remember how long...we had a day off..unplanned, but a day off just the same.

And do I sleep in?  No, I am up early..cause the dogs are downstairs barking..

Do I decide to relax on my day off?  No, why would I do that?  I was at Home Depot nice and early to pick up paint for our daughter's bedroom - she's finally outgrown the hot pink and black decor (at 19)..

But since she says she still has to get her...

What exactly is an Essential Oil?

Posted by Becky & Nic Gentile on August 16, 2011 at 8:45 AM Comments comments (0)

From an article I found written by Robert Tisserand

Essential oils are found in aromatic plants, and they contain the volatile molecules that contribute fragrance and taste. About 400-500 essential oils are commercially produced – the number varies according to how you decide to count, and what you include or exclude. There are many more aromatic plants than there are commercially produced oils. For example grapes, guavas, apples, pears, passionfruit, peaches, papayas, pineap...

Tea Tree Oil to combat MRSA??

Posted by Becky & Nic Gentile on August 14, 2011 at 8:10 AM Comments comments (0)

Here's a great answer I found from Robert Tisserand:

"One of the current problems being faced in hospitals worldwide is the increasing resistance of dermally carried MRSA to soaps and ointments intended to eradicate it. These contain active ingredients such as mupirosin, triclosan or chlorhexidine, but bacteria are becoming increasingly resistant to these.

In vitro studies in Australia and the UK have found that tea tree oil is effective against MRSA at concentrat...

Dandruff... Did you know!!

Posted by Becky & Nic Gentile on August 13, 2011 at 7:10 PM Comments comments (0)

According to an essential oil expert (Robert Tisserand);

Every day we lose dead skin cells from our scalp, and when more than usual are lost they clump together forming the white or grey flakes we call dandruff. Dandruff can form when the scalp is either too dry or too oily. Recently a fungus called Pityrosporum ovale, which lives naturally on the scalp, has been implicated in the development of dandruff.

Tea tree oil is active against Pityrosporum ovale and in ...

10 Things Oprah knows for sure!

Posted by Becky & Nic Gentile on August 12, 2011 at 10:05 PM Comments comments (0)

I thought I’d share Oprah’s list of the 10 thingsshe says she knows for sure. I think I agree with all of them and wonder if you do as well.

  1. What you put out comes back, all the time, no matter what. (She says this is her creed.)
  2. You define your own life. Don’t let other people write your script.
  3. Whatever so...

Goodness!! Where have you been?

It's been so long since I've posted anything on our blog.  I miss you all.

We have been crazy people later.  Spring & Summer scent selection and production.  A couple new wholesale accounts getting up and running.  And when we set up wholesale accounts, it's not just about the orders, but also training the staff in the store on the products.  It is important to us to ensure that if customers are asking questions, that someone can answer them as if it was us....

Care For Aging Skin..

Posted by Becky & Nic Gentile on December 27, 2010 at 3:26 PM Comments comments (0)

:)  Notice how my blogs keep moving along with what I seem to be facing personally?

Interestingly enough these tips are marketed by a large soap manufacturer... see how they call what's commercially produced drying..

Take these steps to prevent dry skin as you age:

Wear sunscreen. Avoid the harmful effects of the sun by using sunscreen year-round, not just in the summer.

Holiday Bel Canto Concert

Posted by Becky & Nic Gentile on December 11, 2010 at 11:00 PM Comments comments (0)

Tonight we attended a concert at the Rochester First Asbury Methodist Church that the Womens Bel Canto Choir performed at.

It is such a delight to hear choral singing, in a church that has amazing acoustics, and to top it off, Holiday music.

What joy, and pride to have your daughter involved in this level of performers.

Thank you Mackenzie.  WE LOVE YOU!!

Don't you just love Fall??

Posted by Becky & Nic Gentile on September 18, 2010 at 12:16 PM Comments comments (0)

I don't know about everyone else, but as much as I love the warm weather in the summer (we get so little of it in upstate NY), I just LOVE it when the nights start to cool off, and fall begins to visit..

When the air begins to get crisp, all the fall type of items begin to occur.  Apple cider, pumpkin pies, being able to run the oven again; which means roasts, breads, casseroles - all that great comfort food!  A throw rug for the living room :)
